We’ve been part of this community for more than a century, sharing Christ’s love through worship, fellowship, and service.
Founded in 1840 in a modest upper room on Laurel’s Yellow Row, FUMCL has grown alongside the town - first worshiping in the historic Old Stone Church, and eventually uniting the Centenary and Trinity Methodist congregations in 1941 to become the First United Methodist Church of Laurel. Today, our sanctuary at 424 Main Street stands as a testament to generations of faithful people committed to loving God and serving their neighbors.
We are a diverse, multi-generational, and multi-cultural congregation rooted in Wesleyan tradition and grounded in gospel love. At our core, we believe “You Are Welcome Here” - whether you’re visiting for the first time or have walked these halls for decades. Each week, Pastor Stan delivers thoughtful, life-relevant messages, and our worship pulsing with both tradition and modern warmth reflects God’s invitation to all.
Our ministries ripple into the wider community - clothing pantry, food bank support, Small Groups, youth, caring ministries, and more - reflecting our conviction that faith is shown best through action.
